Weg
- You will not have your luggage tonight at Krimmler Tauernhaus, so pack an extra set of clothes and toiletries for the night, and leave your bags at your hotel.
- Start with a 2 hr taxi ride from Innsbruck to Krimml, in the Hohe Tauern National Park.
- Start hiking south from Krimml from the Krimml WasserWelten center. Here you'll need to buy a ticket for the trail to the waterfall (15€).
- Follow the path up along the Krimml waterfalls. They are impressive. Three powerful falls with a combined height of 380 meters make up the largest falls in Europe.
- The trail passes various viewpoints as you rise higher along the falls and into the Achental valley.
- After about 1500 ft of climing, you reach the valley. The final 4 miles are an easy stroll through this idyllic valley. You'll pass the Hölzlahner Alm restaurant and a variety of small farms along the way, with gorgeous views back into the valley, finishing your hike at the Krimmler Tauernhaus.
